SHOWING DONKEYS IS ABSOLUTELY A FAMILY AFFAIR
|
|
Kirk grew up on a working farm. An FFA member, he raised and showed cattle and hogs for a majority of his youth. Kirk graduated from Otterbein College. He was drafted and played professional baseball with the Oakland Athletics for several years. After an injury, Kirk returned to his home town of Jeffersonville, Ohio.
Terri was raised around horses and showed hunters and jumpers on the junior circuit. She graduated from Mt Carmel School of Nursing and worked in the nursing field for several years, although her true love has always been the animals.
Our mutual love of animals is just one of our bonds and is what eventually led us to the Miniature Donkeys.
We have to mention our very important junior partner, our son Kadin. He is definitely following in his folks footsteps. He loves the donkeys. He is active in their daily care and loves to participate at the shows. He has already started his own herd as he calls it. Though it only consists of one jennet. He is currently awaiting the birth of his first foal out of his jennet Miss T. We could not be more proud of his true love of the animals and his good sportsmanship.
We are totally devoted to these wonderful creatures. Our breeding program reflects this philosophy. We try to maintain a herd of 15-20 top quality jennets. These girls have been hand picked for conformation, color and temperament. We have an exceptional herd sire who not only reflects the quality we demand but whom we absolutely love. Frontier Legends Tex*Ass Chisholm. All of our donkeys are loved and impeccably cared for. We provide yearly vaccines, routine veterinary examinations, professional hoof care, and top quality nutrition. We are constantly educating ourselves to any new equine concerns and are willing to alter our program accordingly.
